The Urdu Stenotypist is responsible for accurately transcribing spoken Urdu into written form using shorthand and typing equipment. This position requires a high level of proficiency in Urdu shorthand, typing, and the ability to handle sensitive or official documentation with confidentiality and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take dictation in Urdu using shorthand techniques.

• Transcribe dictated material into Urdu using a computer or typewriter.

• Prepare and format official letters, reports, and documents in Urdu.

• Maintain records of official correspondence and stenographic notes.

• Assist officers with documentation, file handling, and scheduling where needed.

• Ensure the accuracy, grammar, and formatting of typed Urdu documents.

• Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation practices.

• Operate office equipment, including computers, printers, and photocopiers.

• Perform clerical tasks as assigned by the Seniors.

Qualifications:

• Intermediate (FA/FSc) or equivalent education.

• A diploma or certification in Urdu shorthand and typing from a recognized institute.

• Typing speed: At least 40 words per minute in Urdu.

• Shorthand speed: At least 80 words per minute in Urdu.

• Proficiency in using InPage (Urdu typing software) and MS Office.

• Good knowledge of official correspondence format and Urdu grammar.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in a similar clerical or stenography role in Legal Firm is an advantage.
